WAIT AND SEE, 1998 to present
WAIT AND SEE_f&d cartier_Kaunas Photography gallery, June 26th - July 27th 2014_detail as.jpg

Duo -plastic arts & photography- since 1995 cameraless, experimental photography. We examine expired, out-dated and discontinued light-sensitive photochemical materials: paper, glass, film stocks and found photographic archives. Wait and See -unused and unexposed silver gelatin papers directly exposed to light- not processed, no manipulations: unfixed living objects in constant chromatic evolution. The never taken Images. Relics of the past and records of our present time.

Photography’s historical fundaments: paper, light, time and the image flood in today’s society is questioned.

Françoise et Daniel by Julian Salinas, 09.2018

English Visual artist duo F&D Cartier live and work in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Examining the essence of photography and its indispensable prerequisites - light and photosensitive materials – they mainly produce photographic works without camera or dark room or chemicals. Evolutional site-specific chromatic photo-based installations are created, left unfixed, a living process Wait and See: the shared experience engages the public to face reality instead of looking at an image. Everyday life, intimacy, the role of the artist and the image’s evolution in our society are examined

Wait and See.
